It was a nice sunny morning but with a cold wind and it was Drive-It-Day on the 21st April 2024.
A number of clubs had been approached by Crofton Beam Engine with a view to using their location as the finishing point for any road run, they might be organising. With the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Club being one of the clubs organising a road run and accepting this invitation.
Due to other commitments the day before, it wasn’t practical for me to go on the road runs, so I went straight there in my Triumph Herald 12/50.
Unfortunately the engine wasn’t in steam the day of the run, however there was a fantastic turnout of classic vehicles, quite overwhelming the organisers and marshals with the road blocked in both directions at one point.
